Monday walk with Oww

I just got back from the park with my mom and, today we only brought, Oprah. The sky was gray (still is, actually) and just absolutely perfect for me.

I lovelovelove gray skies. :)

Anyway, I mentioned in my post yesterday how I enjoy walking/running near the riverbank v. the track. I took some pics to document some of the things that I so love about this place.

It's not just a concrete walk way along the riverbank. It's a wild mixture of fruit trees, bamboos, vegetable gardens, carabaos, janitor fishes, dead frogs (yuck, I know - but, there's a lot of these there), vandalized and, some grossly mutilated concrete animal statues, organic vegetable vendors and some weird but mostly friendly  bunch of people doing their own stuff.

I was raised mainly around this area and my dad used to play and bathe in this very river. It has gone through a lot of change and a natural disaster or two. This is definitely not perfect at all but this is part of my hometown. Though, I will never be caught dead swimming in this river - I am proud to say that this is one of the places that I really enjoy visiting and spending my time in. This place is real and raw, and, maybe even, where the last of the real Marikina can be found.

Oh, and here's my baby Oprah. :)

Have a good day! :)

  1. it's nice to have even a small part of Marikina be preserved :) Hope in the coming years, it is still like that!
