I haven't been posting the past few weeks simply because I have been running/lazy lately. Like, really, reeeally lazy. :|
However, good news for me is... think I have already gotten out of the rut and now I am back. :)
Lately, my days were spent outside walking, and sometimes running, with my mom and my dogs. While, my down times mainly revolved around watching old cycles of ANTM, old episodes of 30 Rock, and some old movies. Generally, I relaxed while still trying to be active - if that makes sense. So, yeah - all's good. :)
Speaking of my morning adventures with my dear ol' mama; yesterday, we went to the running track in our area - we do not usually do this simply because they charge people and we'd rather just walk/jog by the river park instead because - number one: it's free and number two: it's not boring at all. Not at all. :)
Anyway, the ground was wet that day (March 6th), so mom and I decided to skip the riverside joggin' path and opted to go for the safety of the cushioned track. So, off we go...
Well, it turns out that Nestle's Wellness program is there every Sunday offering people to join their club to earn points whenever they go there for a run - and these accumulated points can be exchanged for some pretty neat products. Well, needless to say, we signed up for it (what the hay, it's free) and we got ourselves a card and a booklet with some interesting info.
Here's my booklet and the pages I find interesting.
Well, ok... I am aware that the info in the booklet can be found online (I am even betting that the stuff here is more up-to-date and maybe even more accurate); but, I am thinking of the people who doesn't have access to the net and there are a lot here in the Philippines. The printed information is really very useful - and cute. Oh, also because it reminded me of my Science and PE classes back in the day. Go, Glow and Grow foods - anyone? :)
Isn't it interesting that companies these days are really trying to be more healthy? Giving people more options. Offering a more diverse choices. Feeding us information, after information, after information. Generally, confusing easily confused consumers (me).
I mean, it is great re-educating me about nutrition. No doubt. But, I have a very dirty mind when it comes to companies selling me their products. Are these really good for me? Or really just for their pockets?
Hmm, anyway - it doesn't really matter now. I was reminded of my Go, Glow and Grow foods. I know now what I need to eat more and less of. And, I guess, all I need to do now is to be conscious in choosing the healthier picks.
Let's choose the better option. :)
