Tutorial: Saving money by buying in packs

Here are some things we all should know about our products and it's packaging:

• Packaging has a great contribution to the cost of the products we buy
• There are a lot of times wherein the package itself costs more than the product in it 
• The same product can have two prices when packaged differently
• Overtly over-packaged products adds to our problem in waste and landfill 

Though many companies consider cost-cutting by improving the packaging of their products, there are still some that don't really. Probably because a lot of people are still enamored by cute packaging. I have to admit that I am one of those, really. :(

Ok, so moving away from that and more into my point here. Hehhee.

I have several products that I regularly use; the mainstays of my daily skincare routine, that I thought I could save some money if I start buying wisely.

How, you asked? Well, by buying the same product but only in packs! :) I know this is not a new idea, really - but, this is the first time I am going to apply this in my life. :)

Anyway, so, instead of going for the usual bottles, I figured I can just buy the ones sold in plastic pouches. Doing this will not only help me save money (even if it doesn't really look that significant for some), but also help in its little way in producing less garbage.

I am starting this practice off with my A Bonne' lotion. Only because I ran out of it and found a reasonably priced (super cheap, really) pack.

The Basics:
250 ml pack of A Bonne' Milk Power Lightening Lotion + Collagen lotion

300 ml old bottle of A Bonne' Milk Power Lightening Lotion + Collagen lotion

Directions:

1. Make sure that your empty bottle can hold the amount of product you will be putting in it. 

2. If you will be recycling a bottle of another product - make sure that it is clean before transferring the contents. We do not want to waste our product by mixing it with, hmmm, say a shower gel? :)

3. Transfer the all contents to the bottle container. 

Number one - Here's the price breakdown:
300ml A Bonne' lotion (bottled) - 129.00php - 0.43php/ml
250ml A Bonne' lotion (packed) - 52.00php -  0.21php/ml

Number two - That's basically half the cost saved for me - and I'm still being conservative here. Yay!

Number three - Of course, another thing about this is.. for us to be always on the lookout for great deals and grab those reasonable offers immediately because these will not be available forever.
